Back in the Saddle

The Buffalo Bills made a powerful statement over the Las Vegas Raiders with a commanding score of 38-10, rebounding emphatically from their Week 1 setback. After the Raiders managed to secure their only touchdown early in the first quarter, the Bills exhibited a relentless determination, fixated on clinching their inaugural victory of the season.

While Josh Allen stole the spotlight for much of the game, it was the Bills' ground game that truly bolstered the offensive rhythm. Ken Dorsey significantly elevated the rushing attempts, increasing the count from a mere 22 carries the previous week to an impressive 35 against the Raiders. The Buffalo Bills secured their first triumph of the season in a resounding 38-10 conquest over the Las Vegas Raiders. From the second offensive drive onward, the Bills maintained an unwavering forward momentum on both ends of the field.

They only punted once and committed no turnovers, a testament to their unwavering offensive prowess. Quarterback Josh Allen demonstrated his prowess by amassing 274 passing yards and three touchdowns, completing an astounding 80 percent of his passes. This marked his fifth career game boasting such an impressive stat line. Running back James Cook achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 100 rushing yards in a game for the very first time in his career, averaging an exceptional seven yards per carry.

Since entering the league in 2021, Brown has been considered by some as the potential weak link in the offensive line. Despite contending with a series of injuries, he grappled with one of the poorest pass protection rates after assuming the role of right tackle. As the Bills geared up to face the Raiders, the pivotal question was whether Brown could thwart the formidable Raiders' edge rusher, Maxx Crosby, and prevent him from disrupting the game's flow and building momentum for Las Vegas. In this game, Crosby's efforts proved fruitless, as he failed to reach Josh Allen even once.

Moreover, Brown played a vital role in the run game, not only aiding James Cook in surpassing 100 rushing yards but also contributing to two touchdowns for Damien Harris and Latavius Murray. This performance epitomized what the Bills had been anticipating from Brown, and he rose to the occasion precisely when facing off against arguably one of the league's top five edge rushers.
